In Nov 2024, ASTM International's Committee E27 on Hazard Potential of Chemicals honored Prof. Sheng Min with the 'Special Contribution Award'. In recognition of your dedicated and outstanding efforts revisions to ASTM E537 the Test Method for Thermal stability of chemicals by Differential Scanning Calorimetry .

ASTM E537-24, Standard Test Method for The Thermal Stability of Chemicals by Differential Scanning Calorimetry, is the internationally authoritative standard test method for determining the thermal stability of chemicals using DSC. The corresponding Chinese National Standard, GB/T 22232, is a translation of ASTM E537-08. Although ASTM E537 ( prior to this revision) had undergone multiple revisions, it still contained several issues, such as failing to address the additional exothermic peaks caused by air headspace, and inaccurate data resulting from high-pressure DSC testing and the use of AL pan crucibles. The revision of this standard was spearheaded by Professor Sheng Min, and the new standard was published in Jun 2024.

 The consortium standard, Standard Test Method for Determining the Thermal Stability of Chemicals by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (T/CCSAS 055—2025), developed under the organization of the China Chemical Safety Association with contributions from the East China University of Science and Technology, the Institute of Chemical Materials of the China Academy of Engineering Physics, the Forensic Science Center of Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, Suzhou Huache Safety Technology Co., Ltd., and Tianjin University, was officially released and implemented on Mar 3, 2025.
